Welcome to CADD 3661. Above is an animation of the 3d models that represent the completion of the 3 parts of each lesson in this course. The 1st part is drawing the blueprint or othographics of the model. The 2nd part is to create a isometric wire frame of the model from the the initial blueprint. The 3rd part is to create the model itself..

These series of pictures represent 3d images that were created by Students like yourself and of course you will be demonstrating the very same ability. With precision and perseverance you will be creating such models and all of the drawing processes that are involved with their creation. Below is an example of a model created by a student after completing this course. The animated model of a 15" VW wheel was created by Joseph Oliver, A STPC CADD student, 2005.

Manufacturing Industries create products that are designed and engineered for some purpose. Draftsman are those company employees that blueprint parts that will be manufactured. A Draftsman may also have the responsibility of modeling parts of machines to illustrate what they look like before they are manufactured. A machine, whether an automobile, a light switch .e.g. has many parts. A Draftsman, would then have an illustrative responsibility to show how the various parts fit together, which is called an Assembly Drawing. On this web page there is a link above that shows what the pictorial drawing of this wind generator. Just a little more clicking on your part and you will see the orthographic's of this wind generator on hyperlinks labeled; detailed drawings, d2 and d3.

You as a Drafting Student taking CADD will be practicing and developing the skills of a Draftsman while creating the othographics, isometrics and 3d views of models from simple to complex. I hope you enjoy this course and have the satisfaction in developing this skill, both with the use of the software and the understanding that goes with becoming a Draftsman. We will not be working with assembly drawings. Assembly drawings and those skills will be addressed in Technical Illustration 3581 and 3582 and more on "Drafting Certification".
